A man from Australia that leaped past a barrier and touched Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been sent away and prohibited from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, twenty-six, was given a sentence to over a week in jail for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the country's border control informed local media.

Wen pushed beyond security and charged at the performer and artist, who was attending the Asian premier for the musical adaptation on November 13. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and high-profile gatherings, including rushing the stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year.

The event provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many claiming he of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has discussed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at her performance in the English city in spring of 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 people and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the court heard he had attempted to intrude on the red carpet event twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a second attempt to breach security. Security staff intercepted him and held him in place.

Wen later posted videos expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "at liberty."

Police detained him the following day and accused him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Presiding Judge the magistrate was referenced by a news outlet as saying that he was looking for publicity, adding that he was mistaken to think he would not experience repercussions.

The actress has not spoken about the case.

Cynthia Erivo discussed the event to NBC, remarking that she "only aimed to ensure my colleague was secure."

"I believe he had no intention to us danger, but you never know with those things, and I sought to make sure that she was OK. That was my first instinct," she commented.
